guardian: azeyma, the wardenabandoned by her father at a young age, sawako was sent away by her mother to work at her uncle’s farm in the outskirts of yanxia. she grew to resent her family under her uncle’s tyrannical arm, save only for her cousin tujiko. long days of heavy labour under the searing sun only hardened her resolve… laying foundational brickwork for the wall she’d build to protect herself from others.fleeing from the farm - and the far-east - in her late teens, sawako joined a dance troupe to put her energy, rage, and sensual energy on display all across the world. combining elements of ala mhigan dance with far-eastern culture, they became famous for a routine which involved dancers suspended in shibari (representing physical objects such as trees, or more abstract takes on emotion) while others danced freely around and with the still-life figures.after a failed tryst with a troupe member, and taking on a job which led to the death of another woman she’d loved, sawako vanished from the public eye for a time. she wandered around the back roads, hills, and passageways of the lands, becoming familiar with the best routes for efficiency or beauty. after meeting with several traders, caravans, and fellow wanderers, she soon adopted the sword & shield, which allowed her to practice her skills as a traveling bodyguard for trade routes, refugees, and private and sensitive personal deliveries.

sawako is known for having a bit of a short fuse, incendiary temper, and can be ruthlessly calculating. or at least, that’s what she’d like people to believe whenever she introduces herself as “trouble”. those who get to know her would call her kind, generous, loyal, soft-hearted and compassionate. due to her past, sawako is quite lonely, having a very difficult time opening up to others as she holds a belief that she is not capable of or deserving of love.she prefers to isolate, and you may find her in various places around the world about on a “smoke n’ stroll”, letting her feet carry her wherever they may.most nights, she enjoys “goan down tae pub”, throwing back whisky like water. many see her as a gal who is able to party hard and light up the room with her antics and indecipherable accent. but, the more perceptive may take note of a certain… sadness or anger in the way she often dismisses herself. relying on alcohol, tobacco, and number of illicit substances, there’s a deeper sorrow and story to be found if one is able to earn her trust.after many summers of breaking hearts, recklessly engaging in one-night stands and public sex, she has found it harder to ignore an increasingly enveloping yearning to find her “miss right” rather than her “miss right now” - her reason to take root somewhere. frequent dreams of waking up besides a sweethearted miqo lass make it even harder to ignore her desire for a long-term relationship.
